Fundraiser Committee?

The Pack/Troop Committee would like to come up with different ideas for our fundraisers. If you have any ideas or can help on a fundraising committee, please contact the Scoutmaster (Rick), Cubmaster (John W.), Committee Chair (John G.) or send an e-mail to us at info@cubs167.org.

We need to come up with some good ideas that will bring money directly into our Troop and Pack. The Troop and Pack use this money to pay for various awards, supplies and special events.

Please consider how you can help.

Popcorn Pick-up Nov 15th

Once again, our good friend Ed Dwyer has offered to let us use his shop for our popcorn pick-up site.

Please pick-up your popcorn orders on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15th AT 9:00 AM at Dwyer's Auto Body shop which is located next door to the Stuart Bowl at 117 1/2 N. Sherman St (see map below).

Don't forget to turn in your popcorn order forms and money BEFORE NOON on Saturday, November 8th to the First State Bank in Stuart.

Popcorn will be ready for pick-up on the next Saturday, November 15th.

American Legion Service Project - Pictures

American Legion Service Project

At our last committee meeting we talked about painting the parking poles that are at the Stuart Rec Center. Pat Doud, contacted John Gulbranson and told him they had gotten the poles fixed and back in place and they are now ready to be painted.

They will provide the paint and equipment to paint them if we could provide some Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts to do the painting.

The American Legion Post provides the Rec Center as a meeting place for scouts at no charge. It would be great if we could see as many of our scouting families as possible come out to help with this project. If we get enough scouts there, this project should not take very long and it will be a big benefit to the Legion.

Let's meet at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 1st at the Rec Center. This weekend will probably be the last chance we have to get this done. It will soon be too cold to paint anything outdoors and the weather forecast looks good for Saturday. Be sure to wear clothes that won't matter if you get paint on them.

November 21st Campout & Climbing

The troop will be staying in the Blank Ridge Trading Post at Camp Mitigwa.

For Scouts 13 years and older, this is your opportunity to earn the Climbing Merit Badge. Provided the weather cooperates, you will be using the climbing tower.

For those who are not able to use the tower, additional activities and cooking requirements will be offered back at the cabin.

All Pack and Troop parents and leaders are encouraged to attend. We do a lot of planning and coordinating at these meetings, so your input is very valuable and welcome.

Re-Registration for 2008-2009

Dear Scout Parent,

Welcome back to another great year of Scouting with Pack & Troop 167!

If you have not yet re-registered your scout for the upcoming year, you need to do so soon. Our registration deadline is November 1st. If you are not re-registered by this date, your scout will be dropped from our rolls and will need to pay a more expensive registration if you choose to join again.

The registration fee this year is $35.00 each for both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Please attend your next Pack, Den or Troop meeting to complete your registration. Be sure to bring your checkbook unless you wish to use your existing Scout Bucks.

If you cannot attend a Pack, Den or Troop meeting before the end of October, please mail or deliver your fee, BEFORE NOVEMBER 1, to:

October Campout - Court of Honor

Troop 167 will be camping at Scout Park in Stuart from Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5th.

That Saturday morning there will be some Youth Leader Training.

Saturday night will be a Court of Honor. The troop will also be providing dinner Saturday night for the Court of Honor attendees.

Present Flags at WCV Football Game

Troop 167 will be presenting the flags at the following West Central Valley home football games:

  • September 26th
  • October 3rd
  • October 24th

Popcorn Time!

It is that time of year again - Popcorn Time.

Popcorn sales packets were distributed on Saturday, October 18th at 9:00 am at the Stuart Rec Center. If you do not have a packet, please notify your Scoutmaster.

Order forms will need to be turned in before NOON on Saturday, November 8. We will have the turn in location be at First State Bank in Stuart as in past years.

The Pack/Troop Committee has discussed the possibility of rewarding the top sellers with special prizes.

RRV Fall Camporee - September 5-7

The 2008 RRV Fall Camporee will be held at Camp Mitigwa the weekend of September 5-7.

Troop 167 Scouts will be leaving from the Stuart Rec Center at about 6pm on Friday the 5th. The cost is $30 ($18 registration & $12 food).
